Rayman creator, Michel Ancel is renowned for his creations. They’re often so colourful and imaginative. Wild was no exception when we first saw it back in 2015. To recap, the studio Wild Sheep, founded by Ancel was founded in 2014 and Wild is their fledgling title. It offers up shaman style gameplay where the player could take control of certain animals. They could ally themselves with wolves or bears (or any other animal as far as we could tell) and inhabit other player’s worlds, posing as an unsuspecting NPC. The neolithic open world and gameplay potential had us scratching our heads, looking out for further updates. Yet none seem to come to the surface.
With Ancel’s other title, Beyond Good and Evil 2 now in the limelight, we were left wondering about the wellbeing of Wild’s continued development. All has been quiet on the Wild front for quite some time… until recently. On his Instagram account, back in January, Ancel published a new photo of how the game is coming along, confirming that it is indeed still alive and kicking. We are overdue some fresh Wild news. Here’s hoping for a fresh demonstration at this year’s PlayStation Experience in December.
According to Ancel, Wild is “getting better every day”. Great to know that Beyond Good and Evil 2 hasn’t pushed it to one side. Wild is clearly going to be a big deal when it releases, due to its original ideas and open world gameplay. It has been confirmed as a PlayStation exclusive but no word on a release date has surfaced. We’ll be waiting sometime before getting our shaman on. Get excited all over again with the below trailer.
