Finally, PS4 news has emerged on Shadow Warrior 2. The original reboot, developed by Flying Wild Hog, was released just over two years ago. We PS4 fans have had a long wait since October 2014 to get our hands on the whacky hack n’ slash sequel. Flying Wild Hog has now confirmed that our wait will be over on Friday, May 19th.
If you love hack ‘n slash action, infused with insane weaponry and gun play (which I’m guessing you do), now is a great time to inhabit the charismatic Lo Wang in Shadow Warrior 2. Not only did Flying Wild Hog confirm its release date, but also a treat for those who missed out on the first game. Shadow Warriors 2’s PS4 release will also come with a free download of the original reboot from back in 2014. Players can expect a demonic invasion, replete with endless innuendo from Wang and a surprisingly cool story. Shadow Warrior 2 has already promised much the same after its release to PC audiences.
Shadow Warrior 2 Brings Extra Treats For PS4 Users
That’s not all! Flying Wild Hog have confirmed up to four players can play cooperatively online through the game’s campaign. With the fluent meshing of melee and gunplay that we so adored from 2014’s Shadow Warrior, we certainly can’t wait to get our hands on it!
We’ve had to wait some time for the PS4 version of Shadow Warrior 2. Flying Wild Hog have, of course, got to deal with all kinds of things to get the game functional on our consoles. However, they have detailed how mapping the game to a Dualshock 4 controller was a big aspect to all of that. Tadek Zielinski, the developer’s community manager, explains
“The team took great care in putting together a weapons selection configuration that took advantage of the DualShock 4’s features,’ the developer’s community manager Tadek Zielinski explains, ‘to keep the player in control and have all weapons at their disposal easily.”
Players of the 2014 reboot will understand this. Shadow Warrior brought a huge roster of weaponry for players to mix things up with. Switching between different weapon types for different foes quickly and effectively is key in becoming a master and surviving the horde.
